Gorgeous sunrises in Portland make way for a beautiful stroll through the Portland Japanese Garden. Not only is the entrance to the park stunning with water falls, beautiful rock pathways, dry river beds, japanese fences, and more, but inside you will find much more!
Meander down pathways, discover the koi pond, or sit down in a special spot to just take in the colors, sun rays, and peace that surrounds you.
My father and I enjoyed a glorious afternoon in the gardens. We even got there right in time for when they were feeding the huge koi in the long narrow pond. The koi came right up to the surface to eat the fish food and their mouths opened wide. It was a joy to watch and capture photographs of these beautiful, colorful fish.
After the fish, we followed a path down through maples following a stream that lead us to a pool full of fallen yellow maple leaves. The sounds were melodic and the air crisp. It was a busy day with a lot of people enjoying it as well. We met people from New York, Florida, Oklahoma, and Texas. They were all awe-inspired just like we were. Every trip to the Japanese Garden refreshes your soul and spirit!
