Anything Goes

There are so many people out there who want to predict the future. Is it going to be a good year? A bad year? Is the economy going to go up? Or down? Is the housing market going to get better or worse? We could go on and on and on!

Predictions are only a small part of the picture when you really think about it. Your actions are the most important! 

If you are wondering if you will lose weight... stop wondering and start doing! What is it that you like to do? Try to incorporate it into your life each and every day. If it's walking, get out and walk in your neighborhood, the mall, a park, or on the mountain. 

Are you wondering if your house is right for you? Try cleaning it up and getting rid of what you don't need. And if it feels good, consider selling it and moving or enjoy it to the fullest!

Are you concerned about your job or how much money you will make? Make a list of the pros and cons of your work. Then, write a list of ten new goals, small daily ones and big audacious ones. Take the steps to get there. 

Do you wish you had more time to spend with your pets or kids? Then figure out how to have more time: wake up earlier, stay up later, take a shorter commute, or choose time with kids/pets over being on your phone or social media. 

5 Reasons how to start your new year out with an open mind:
1. Focus on the present moment. Spend time enjoying the moment, right now. Get inspired by what you are doing right now and enjoy it. 

2. Make plans that will lead you to goals, accomplishments, a trip or vacation, or time that you are doing what you want to do. Get out a paper and pen and work backwards from your goal to outline the steps that will allow you to get there. 

3. Talk and listen to mentors or friends. Ask them how did they do what they wanted? How do they keep an open mind?

4. Appreciate your mistakes and learn from them. Life is not meant to be a straight line. Learn as you go and keep an open mind on what new ideas you will find.

5. Be grateful. Grattitude is the key to this interesting life. Send a thank you note or tell someone how much they mean to you. By focusing on the good, more good will show up!
